Fradreck Shoko
Fradreck Shoko (“Frad”) is a Senior Banker and Head of the Global Consumer sector team in Standard Bank’s Corporate and Investment Banking Division. Frad is an accomplished and trusted advisor who has acted on many complex transactions across geographies, industries and product sets.
Frad has over 20 years’ experience in cross-border and intra-market transactions including mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, transaction structuring, BEE and valuations. Frad joined Standard Bank in 2009 as Head of the Africa Corporate Finance Team and subsequently assumed responsibility for the Global Corporate Finance Team. In this role, Frad led a number of high profile transactions including AB InBev’s acquisition of SABMiller, successful defence of PPC in unsolicited approaches, AB InBev sale of 26.4% stake in Distell, IPO of Telkom SA, IPO of MTN Uganda and MTN Nigeria, sale of MTN SAs’ Towers, acquisition of Stanbic IBTC by Standard Bank and the merger of Phembani and Shanduka. Frad also advised on several of South Africa’s leading BEE transactions including, CCBA, Sasol, Standard Bank, Nedbank, Liberty and Sanlam. Prior to Standard Bank, Frad worked as a Corporate Financier at JPMorgan and Credit Suisse First Boston.
Frad is a Rhodes Scholar and holds a Bachelor of Bachelor of Accounting Science (SA) degree as well as an MPhil in Management Studies (OXON) degree. Frad is a qualified Chartered Management Accountant (UK).
