Alan has over 40 years’ experience in and leadership of a broad spectrum of business activities, both corporate and operational. He has had overall direct responsibility for listed and unlisted businesses which include manufacturing, wholesale distribution of industrial and consumer products, various aspects of the motor industry, large-scale furniture retailing, property and construction. He has presided over a number of turnaround projects.

Alan has a B. Com degree and a Diploma in Advanced Financial Management. He has held various non-executive directorships, often for extended periods, that include a number of JSE listed companies. He has been chairman or member of remuneration committees, investment committees, audit and risk committees and social and ethics committees of public and large private companies.
